Sound familiar?

Effort isn’t the missing piece.

You bought the books. You did the practice tests. You learned hundreds of words. Then you sat the exam and got the same score as last time.

01

Studying for hours, but forgetting most of it within a week

02

Knowing the rules, but freezing in the Speaking test

03

Taking test after test, but never knowing why the score won’t move

IELTS tests whether you can use English. Connecting the skills and recalling what you’ve learned gives your practice a purpose.

My story

Why I built IELTS Nexus

For 12 years, I have taught English and IELTS to students who were working incredibly hard and still not moving forward. At first I thought they needed more practice. They didn’t. They needed a different way to learn.

So I changed how I taught. Every lesson became many lessons: a Listening lesson was also reading, speaking and writing practice. Students reviewed what they learned on a rhythm—one day, three days, five days, seven days later—so it stayed.

Students started to see small, real progress every week, and their confidence grew with it. Their scores followed.

IELTS Nexus is that classroom, built for you, wherever you are.

The Nexus Method

Four skills.
Four free study guides.

Use them with IELTS Nexus, with another course, or on your own. They’re yours to keep.

  • Every lesson is many lessons: connect Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
  • The rhythm of recall: review on days 1, 3, 5 and 7.
  • The 15-minute habit: learn, pause, then recall three things.
  • Climb, don’t compare: measure your own small steps.
  • A weekly study plan you can start tomorrow.

Questions

Questions students ask

Are all four study guides really free?

Yes. Give your email address to download the Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking PDFs. You don’t need an account or paid membership.

Is this for Academic or General Training?

IELTS Nexus focuses on IELTS Academic. Many of the language and study skills also help with General Training.

Can I try the lessons before joining?

Yes. You can choose one lesson to practise free. The free Listening and Reading tests and the introductory guides are separate from that one-lesson trial.

Will I improve by 1.25 bands?

No score can be promised. This is the average across Richard’s 563 classroom students over 12 years, typically studying for about six months—not a measured result for every online member. Your outcome depends on your starting level, time and practice.

Can I use IELTS Nexus on my phone?

Yes. You can study on your phone, tablet or computer. Keep using the same browser and device for your locally saved lesson progress.

Your next band starts with how you study.
